When you were a child, you had many aspirations and plans for your future. Think back and try to recall what happened to make those dreams go away. Then, think present and ask yourself if those dreams are still relevant in your life. If they are, think future and visualize one of those dreams or aspirations as part of your life. Talk to your dog about your dream. Talk about the vision or goal for that dream. Discuss the path you will take, both of you, to attain that goal. Others may tell you it’s silly or impossible to chase your dream. Naysayers are always willing to tell you what’s wrong with following your dream. Aren’t you too old? Too young? Too small? Too weak? The only one who will believe as you do is your dog. Think of his unbridled zeal when you head down a new path, or his commiseration when you take a wrong turn. Your dog will always be there to motivate and support you. No fear or recriminations from your faithful dog!
You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
— C. S. Lewis. Author, The Chronicles of Narnia
Don’t ever give up on your dreams. If you can’t find it within yourself to dream, let your dog be the key to creating a dream for you.
